Who Is Nick Mancuso?

If your motor is revved to watch an exciting star, Nick Mancuso is the one to drive you wild! On Stingray, the newest vehicle to park on the NBC block, Nick portrays a handsome superhero who takes on the most evil villains to save the oppressed. But he accepts no payment for his clients. Instead, he insists that somewhere down the line, they repay him with a favor and that favor may involve risk to life and limb.

His character is one of mystery, sort of a Lone Ranger sans mask. And now more and more people are curious about the darkly sexy man who portrays him. Nick Mancuso was born 38 years ago in Sicily but his family moved to Toronto, Canada soon after his birth. He's fluent in several dialects of Italian, as well as French and Spanish and in a minute's time he can flit from talking about great works of art to medieval history. As for acting he says, "l started at 16 and continued acting through high school and university (The University of Toronto where he received a degree in psychology). l've done summer stock, barn theater—where l slept in the hayloft between shows—street regional and Underground theater. l even formed my own theater (during his early years in Toronto)."
In addition, he said he's done "TV pilots, movies of the week, Studio movies, B and C movies and critically acclaimed movies." He starred in the TV mini-series Scruples opposite Lindsay Wagner. At present, he's shooting a feature film in Calgary, Canada. And of course, Stingray keeps him on his toes. There was a six-month lapse between the series' two-hour pilot and now, but it seems it was picked up because it garnered impressive ratings. In any case, the actor says he's delighted to be back. In this show, Stingray appears from nowhere to save those in distress, and then vanishes almost immediately. But don't fret—it doesn't look like Nick Mancuso is going to disappear so fast.
