The Moon Puts On
A Bright White Dress
( & Gets Ready To Go Out )

( by Nick Mancuso )

i see you there between
the flocons of bright snow
the crystals melting on your tongue

yr eyelashes, the space between yr teeth

THE BLIZZARD
is hard, fast and furious while you sleep
i am brightly awake
in a newyorkcitylanscape of the cold flat
mind,its asleep here in ca.la.santa
freeway land of straight
edged clear hardsunlight beach surfing
the foam between
i am latched to your thighs
hide under yr arm
pits curdle in your toss and turn
and turn and turn and toss
and wonder will this spinning ever end
will it ever end,the need loss of you
gained by time, tuned to some internal
paradigm of the shift-eyed planet
galatea,lost to the drifts
there are mountains of snow and giant
whirling tides big as giant blue-eyes
surfer gods between here and there
what is this hard concrete of desire this
wending i wanna be inside of you
forever tuned to the whirlwind latchkeyed
snow of blizzard there are tornado es
up my backside i spill split echoes of blood
no distant volcanoe seen from dark-tinted
glasses

look!
its shifting,the world announces
look!
LOOK!

you sleep beneath blizzards and beneath
a full and
steady moon, while you sleep the stars
cackle and put on fights boxing exhibitions
for the poor dumb blind fucks
roaring tiger-eyed snowflacks avalanches
more than this city can take

laguardia is closed,the brooklyn bridge
totters under the weight of 20 below
crystaline birds,angels escape from
maximum security,hoity-toity ladies
in full battle gear with torches
appear and re-appear

look, the world is tottering
like a giant rolling snowball
filled with kerosened fire
i think i smell
the city
in blizzard sleep

while yu sleep i toss and turn
and toss the halycon of desire
rainbowhued,giant crackling moths
circle me,whisper your name
over and over

in tiny lanterened sleep
i pray for all the toys
of childhood

& the full light of day.
